7. References
As noted in the Preface, the roots of this current document/resource are grounded in a working paper written in 2004.  At the time, the reference section for that paper included all references.  However, since 2004 I've revised the paper via the removal of most of the introductory policy context material.  I've also revised and extended certain portions of the text based on the reading of new articles and books. Unfortunately, as outlined in the Preface, I've not had the time to keep all aspects of this working paper 100% current.
Thus, I'm providing the best set of references I can, in case a reader wants to find a specific citation.  I'm providing this via three sources.
The "original working paper references" document includes ALL references included in the original working paper.  Thus, it will include references to sources that are NO longer a part of the current manuscript.  Just ignore them.
The IAP Reference Citation Data Base References document is an over-inclusive (almost OCD) listing of references of most every article/book/chapter I've saved in my reference management system that might relevant to future work on this project.  Hopefully it includes the "new" references I've used since 2004.  It will obviously include many references that are not cited in the current document/paper....but this is good...as it can be used as a resource by others who want to dig deeper into the relevant literature..which is expanding at a very fast rate.
The Handbook of Motivation and Competence ((Elliot & Dweck, 2005)came to my attention in 2005.  Considerable portions of the revisions to the original working paper were derived from this excellent source.
If a reader can't find a specific reference via these sources, and they are dying to find it, e-mail me (iap@earthlink.net) and I'll do my best to find it.
